Many websites have privacy policies and terms of service that are voluminous in length. This is oftentimes a red flag that indicates your data is being sold. Our privacy policy here at 404Spotter is short and simple because we do not have to hide any sketchy or unethical activities. Technically, none of the data we acquire while preparing your report is private. Anyone with enough time and basic computer skills could legally gain access to it. However, the manner in which we compile and format your data makes it quite valuable for potential advertisers and competitors. Unlike many other service providers in this field, we do not sell or share ANY client information with anyone other than you regardless of how lucrative it would be for us. We do not even allow advertisers on the platform.
The data that we acquire from searching your domain for broken links, SEO problems, and accessibility issues is initially placed into an encrypted drive. The report that we write and send to you is also initially kept inside of an encrypted drive. If we were to get hacked, your data would be safe.
Once we send you your weekly report, ALL of the data we gathered from your website and the report we send you are deleted from our server and hard deleted with forensic software. Even if our computers are stolen, there is no way any of your data can be recovered by anyone.
That is all — 404Spotter Staff
